Trump’s controversial plan to transfer one million Palestinians to Libya
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, the American network NBC news reported, based on informed sources, that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is reviewing a plan for the permanent transfer of approximately one million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya.
Two sources familiar with the details of this plan and a former U.S. official told NBC that the matter was serious enough for the Trump administration to discuss it with Libyan authorities.
The sources stated that in exchange for resettling Palestinians in Libya, the U.S. government would likely release billions of dollars in Libyan assets frozen in America over a decade ago.
However, no final agreement has been reached yet, and according to those same sources, the Zionist regime was aware of these negotiations.
The U.S. state Department and White House National Security Council did not respond to multiple requests for comment from NBC News.
Meanwhile, Bassem Naim, a senior official of Hamas—which governs Gaza—told NBC that his movement had no knowledge of any talks regarding transferring Palestinians to Libya.
“Palestinians have deep roots in their land and are fiercely attached to it,” he said when questioned by NBC. “They are prepared to sacrifice their lives defending their homeland, families, and children’s future. Onyl Palestinians themselves—including Gazans—have the right to decide their fate.”
The network also noted that representatives of the Zionist regime declined comment on this matter as well.
