Boeing signed its largest ever contract in Qatar
According to the international economics section of webangah News Agency, citing tasnim News Agency and Euronews, the American company Boeing, through the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump—who traveled to Gulf countries to strengthen regional trade—has secured a historic deal with Qatar Airways.
Following this declaration, shares of America’s largest aerospace company rose by 2% on Wednesday, reaching their highest level in 52 weeks.
During Trump’s visit to Qatar, the White House announced that he had reached agreements worth $243.5 billion (€209 billion) with this Gulf nation.
A White House statement read: “These historic deals celebrated today will bring innovation and prosperity for generations, bolster American manufacturing and technological leadership, and set the nation on a path toward a new golden age.”
Among these agreements is an aircraft purchase order worth $96 billion (€85.8 billion) from Qatar Airways to Boeing—a record for America’s largest exporter.
The report noted that following Saudi Arabia’s $600 billion (€535 billion) investment plan earlier this week, these U.S.-Qatar deals further strengthened washington’s ties with wealthy Gulf nations.
Trump later traveled to the United Arab Emirates amid speculation about additional deals being signed with Emirates (Qatar Airways’ larger regional competitor).
Boeing stated that “Qatar Airways” will purchase 130 Dreamliner 787 aircraft and 30 777X jets. The company described this as “the largest widebody aircraft order for Boeing,” and also “the biggest Dreamliner 787 order” and ““Qatar Airways’ largest-ever purchase.”
The deal is expected to create or sustain nearly “400,”000 jobs in America.” Donald Trump attended its signing ceremony
