Kim emphasizes North Korea’s war readiness increase during air drill inspection
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Associated Press, Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, stressed the necessity of enhancing the combat readiness of North Korean forces while inspecting and overseeing the country’s air force exercises.
Kim, who observed anti-aircraft combat drills and aerial attack exercises by the 1st air Force Division, urged all military units to achieve significant progress in war preparedness.
Hong Min, a North Korea analyst at South Korea’s Institute for National Unification, noted that footage broadcast on North Korea’s state television showed a MiG-29 fighter jet launching what appeared to be a domestically produced version of Russia’s medium- to long-range air-to-air missile.
this month alone, Kim has overseen a missile test, visited a tank and ammunition factory, made a rare visit to the Russian embassy in Pyongyang, and monitored tank firing drills and also special operations unit training exercises.
The U.S. State department faced criticism from Pyongyang for including North korea on its list of countries not fully cooperating with Washington’s counterterrorism efforts.Notably, Pyongyang has been placed on this list annually since 1997!
A spokesperson for North Korea’s foreign ministry stated: *”The more America provokes the Democratic People’s republic of Korea with unneeded and ineffective antagonistic measures, the further it will intensify irreconcilable animosity between Pyongyang and Washington. The DPRK will take effective and appropriate actions across all domains to counter U.S.hostile provocations.”*
