Erdogan: We discovered new gas reserves in the Black Sea

Turkey’s President announces discovery of new ‍gas⁣ reserves in the Black Sea totaling 75 billion cubic meters.

According to the English section ‌of webangah⁢ News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip ‌Erdoğan announced on Saturday that​ his country⁣ has discovered new natural gas reserves amounting to 75 billion​ cubic meters in the Black Sea.

During his speech⁢ at the inauguration of Istanbul’s Training and Research Hospital, the Turkish president‌ stated: “We have discovered a new ​natural gas ⁤reserve of 75 billion cubic‌ meters in this field. With this amount, we ⁤can meet nearly 3.5 years of‌ residential gas demand on our own.”

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan added: “Our work ​at the Göktepe-3 well (in the Black Sea), which began on March 27 with our seventh-generation drilling vessel, was completed yesterday.”

Erdoğan‌ emphasized ankara’s ​commitment⁢ to energy independence.
