Erdogan: We discovered new gas reserves in the Black Sea
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on Saturday that his country has discovered new natural gas reserves amounting to 75 billion cubic meters in the Black Sea.
During his speech at the inauguration of Istanbul’s Training and Research Hospital, the Turkish president stated: “We have discovered a new natural gas reserve of 75 billion cubic meters in this field. With this amount, we can meet nearly 3.5 years of residential gas demand on our own.”
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan added: “Our work at the Göktepe-3 well (in the Black Sea), which began on March 27 with our seventh-generation drilling vessel, was completed yesterday.”
Erdoğan emphasized ankara’s commitment to energy independence.
