UNICEF sounds alarm about children in Gaza
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Shehab News Agency, UNICEF expressed deep concern over the rising number of child casualties in the Gaza war, noting that over 45 children lost their lives in just the past two days.
UNICEF reported that the death toll of children in Gaza over the last two months has reached 950. The situation in Gaza is catastrophic by all standards, with children enduring severe conditions under siege while attacks on residential areas and shelters for displaced peopel continue.
The statement emphasized that children are not only facing death from bombings but also from starvation, lack of medical care, and disease outbreaks due to unsafe drinking water. additionally, humanitarian aid remains inaccessible to the region.
UNICEF stressed that children’s rights are being blatantly violated daily as they endure ongoing violence, displacement, and deprivation of basic life necessities. The continuation of these conditions threatens an entire generation with loss of security, health, education—and even hope.
