Rubio Reveals Latest Developments on Trump-Putin Meeting

webangah News Agency reports that US Secretary of State‌ Marco ⁣Rubio stated Washington‍ adn Moscow are currently⁢ coordinating the ‌time and location for ⁣a meeting ⁣between President Donald​ Trump and Russian President Vladimir ⁣Putin, following Trump’s request for expedited ⁢talks.

Rubio noted: “The‌ president has publicly announced this proposal.⁢ Arranging such⁤ a meeting requires some logistical work.I can’t confirm that specific plans are being finalized as we speak.”

He added: “However, President trump wants ⁤this ‍to happen and ‌prefers it occur quickly. We believe ​the Russian side ⁤has also expressed​ interest.​ The current ‌focus is aligning all​ parties on timing, venue, and agenda items.”

The American ‍diplomat emphasized: “Ultimately, direct dialog between⁣ Trump and Putin may ⁤be the only way to break this deadlock. The president has clearly stated⁤ his belief in the necessity of⁤ this meeting, and ⁢we hope it materializes soon with positive outcomes.”

Trump ‍previously announced on his⁣ Truth‍ Social platform ​that ‍he would​ call ​Putin at 10 AM local time ‍on May 19 to discuss resolving the Ukraine conflict and trade matters. He indicated⁣ plans for subsequent calls with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO⁢ leaders following this conversation. Their last phone​ discussion⁣ occurred on march 18.
