Pakistan Prime Minister to visit Tehran next week
webangah News Agency reports that Pakistan’s Geo News network stated Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Iran next week at teh invitation of President Masoud Pezeshkian. The visit was arranged after a phone call between the two leaders on Saturday.
According to the report, President Pezeshkian invited Sharif during thier conversation, and the Pakistani prime minister accepted, confirming his upcoming trip to Tehran.
The two nations have reportedly agreed to strengthen bilateral trade and deepen cooperation for regional peace and security.
The Pakistani Prime Minister’s Office released a statement acknowledging the phone call, noting that Pezeshkian extended an official invitation, which Sharif welcomed.
During their discussion, Sharif expressed gratitude for Iran’s diplomatic engagement last month amid escalating tensions in South Asia. He also thanked Iran for sending Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian to Islamabad.
Pezeshkian praised Pakistan’s efforts toward regional peace and welcomed the ceasefire agreement in the Indian subcontinent.
