Deadly Floods in Argentina Continue to Claim Lives
Argentine authorities report at least three people missing and one dead after floods hit the capital and surrounding areas.
webangah News Agency reports that severe flooding in Buenos Aires,Argentina’s capital,and its suburbs has left at least three people missing and one dead.
Officials state that heavy rainfall forced approximately 2,000 residents to evacuate their homes. The floods have blocked major roads and caused rivers to overflow.
Fabian Garcia, head of Buenos Aires’ Civil Defense, confirmed one body has been recovered while three individuals remain unaccounted for.
Garcia added that 1,945 people have been relocated to temporary shelters. The storm brought rainfall five times higher then May’s average levels before subsiding early Sunday.
