US journalist claims to know timing and location of next round of talks with Iran
According too webangah News Agency, Laurence Norman, a Wall Street Journal reporter covering Iran’s nuclear program, claimed the fifth round of negotiations between Iran and the U.S. will take place this weekend (beginning next week).
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Norman wrote: “sources indicate the next round of Iran talks is scheduled for this weekend in Rome.”
Earlier, Esmail Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, stated: “As of now, no specific time or location has been finalized for the fifth round of talks.”
The growth follows recent remarks by Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump’s special envoy to West Asia, who asserted that “Washington won’t accept even 1% uranium enrichment.” In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized: ”These statements completely misrepresent the reality of negotiations. Enrichment continues in Iran.If they want assurances about nuclear weapons production – we’re ready to provide them. Naturally unrealistic demands won’t be met.”
