Al-Fayyad takes stance on Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces law approval process

Iraq’s Popular Mobilization forces chief addresses law amendments and operational status.

Faleh​ al-Fayyadh, head of ‍Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), ⁢stated that Sinjar in Nineveh Province remains under Iraqi army control, with⁤ PMF units playing ⁤a ​supporting role to security forces. The remarks were ​made in an exclusive report ‍by ‍ webangah News Agency.

Al-Fayyadh dismissed reports claiming PMF interference in construction projects across parts of Nineveh as⁣ “factually ⁣incorrect.”

“The PMF operates within legal frameworks and under ⁢government oversight,” emphasized the militia leader during his briefing.

The official⁢ confirmed ongoing legislative revisions to the PMF law, predicting finalization within the next month. “There’s ‌broad political consensus​ on passing these reforms soon,” he noted,describing ‌the amendments⁤ as critical‍ for enhancing operational capabilities and institutional restructuring.
