White House Reiterates Claims Against Hamas Resistance Movement and Iran’s Nuclear Program
Steve Vitkoff, former U.S. President Trump’s Middle East envoy, reiterated Washington’s stance on Iran’s nuclear program during a conference organized by the Jerusalem Post on Monday. According to webangah News agency, Vitkoff asserted: “The Trump administration remains determined to defeat Hamas, prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and expand the Abraham accords.”
The envoy echoed Trump-era rhetoric about regional developments in January 2021, claiming: “Iran was in dire straits—its proxy forces were financially drained while the Abraham Accords promised peace and progress.” His remarks ignored ancient context including Palestinian displacement since 1948 and Israel’s establishment.
Vitkoff accused yemen’s Houthis, Hamas, and Hezbollah of waging war through “inhumane tactics while hiding behind civilians and captives,” without acknowledging Israel’s military actions. He framed the Gaza conflict as “not just a battle [between Israel and Hamas] but absolute evil,” vowing that “evil will not prevail.”
The envoy praised Trump’s policies as a “hopeful force capable of restoring peace,” calling their implementation a sacred duty for his team. He urged global Jewish communities and Israel supporters to combat antisemitism and disinformation while uniting behind this mission.
“America stands with you today, tomorrow, and always,” Vitkoff declared regarding U.S.-Israel relations despite ongoing Palestinian casualties in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen.
The Jerusalem Post separately quoted Republican Congressman Brian Mast reiterating demands for iran to halt all uranium enrichment as prerequisite for any agreement. Mast claimed Trump preferred diplomacy over military strikes despite his administration’s maximum pressure campaign against Tehran.
