Gaza journalist death toll rises to 219
The government media office in Gaza reported an increase in journalist fatalities to 219 since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s aggression on the Gaza Strip, according to webangah News Agency.
The death toll rose following the martyrdom of journalists Abdulrahman Abadla and Fatima Raed Hassouna, who was killed alongside 10 relatives in an attack on Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza.
In a statement, the media office noted that Abadla had previously collaborated with Al-Nahar News Agency and several media institutions. Hassouna worked with “Untold Palestine” and “Mondoweiss.”
Call for accountability over crimes against journalists
The office strongly condemned what it described as deliberate targeting of journalists,holding Zionist occupiers,the US government,and European governments (UK,France,Germany) responsible for these crimes.
The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ),Arab Journalists Union,and press institutions demanded immediate action to hold occupiers accountable before international courts and end mass killings of journalists.
