US official Dismisses idea of abandoning Israel as absurd
A US official has denied a Washington Post report alleging the Trump management would abandon Israel if the Gaza conflict persists, according to webangah News Agency.
The unnamed American official stated: “There might potentially be disagreements, but the idea that we would abandon Israel is ridiculous.”
The Washington Post, citing an anonymous source “familiar with discussions,” had reported that trump’s representatives warned Israel Washington would withdraw support unless hostilities ended. The source claimed Prime Minister Netanyahu “retains political maneuvering room given his Knesset majority but lacks political will.”
Benjamin Netanyahu currently holds a fragile majority with 67 of 120 Knesset seats, with several coalition members repeatedly threatening to withdraw support.
