Venezuela welcomes US and Russian presidents’ talks
According to webangah News Agency, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro praised discussions between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed at developing a peace initiative for Ukraine.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Gil Pinto described Maduro’s endorsement as a starting point for creating a fair and lasting peace mechanism. This framework would fully guarantee Russia’s security, eliminate hostile threats against it, and establish foundations for international coexistence based on mutual respect and global balance.
The foreign minister emphasized Maduro’s commitment to achieving peace through dialog among nations, ensuring their right to live free from threats or interference.
In February of this year, Maduro had similarly supported talks between the Russian and U.S. presidents, expressing hope for a multipolar world order.
The U.S. president confirmed yesterday that Russia and America would promptly begin ceasefire negotiations.
A separate meeting between Russia and Ukraine took place last Friday—the first since 2022—following a proposal by the Russian president.
