Russia Ready to Assist Iran-US Nuclear Talks Process
According to webangah News Agency, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko told RIA Novosti that Moscow is prepared to help Iran and the U.S. achieve consensus in nuclear talks.
Rudenko added during his interview: “Russia remains hopeful for positive outcomes from Tehran and Washington’s negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear dossier.”
The Russian official’s remarks come as Moscow’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, responded critically to claims by the U.S.Special Presidential Envoy who asserted “Iran has no right to enrichment.”
Ulyanov emphasized: “Iran has conducted uranium enrichment for years without developing weapons. Moreover, when a nuclear program remains under effective IAEA verification, there exists no proliferation risk.”
U.S. lead negotiator Steve Wittkopf claimed during Oman talks that Washington cannot permit Iran uranium enrichment capability, stating America had presented its proposal based on this position.
in response, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed Wittkopf’s assertion that ”enrichment represents a red line,” stating: “He appears completely detached from negotiation realities – enrichment in iran will continue.”
