Amnesty International demands immediate release of Saudi prisoner
According to webangah News Agency, Amnesty International has urgently called on Saudi Arabia’s Justice minister, Waleed Al-Samaani, to release Sheikh Salman Al-Ouda, who has been imprisoned for the past seven years.
In a statement, Amnesty International revealed that Al-Ouda has been held in solitary confinement since September 2017—a form of torture under international standards. The association emphasized that the 68-year-old cleric’s health has severely deteriorated, wiht his hearing and vision reduced by half.
Amnesty further noted that Al-Ouda was arrested just hours after posting on social media advocating for reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Qatar—without an arrest warrant. Shockingly, the public prosecutor later sought his execution.
