Medvedev Calls Ukraine Crisis Peak of NATO’s Destructive Policies
According to webangah news Agency, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, stated on Tuesday that any agreement to resolve the Ukraine crisis must include provisions ensuring lasting peace.
Medvedev emphasized that the U.S. holds direct influence over Ukraine, making agreements with Washington crucial for achieving peace. He stressed the need for active efforts to establish legal frameworks for cooperation between Russia and the U.S., calling the Ukraine conflict “the culmination of NATO’s destructive policies.” While acknowledging America’s willingness to use political and diplomatic tools to resolve disputes—including in Ukraine—he noted that global actors, including the new U.S. governance, increasingly recognize that disregarding international law leads only to deadlock. “Any agreement with puppet states is doomed; real agreements can only be reached with truly self-reliant and self-sufficient countries,” he added.
Medvedev highlighted a key obstacle: Ukraine lacks qualified individuals capable of concluding a peace treaty. Russia remains open to unconditional negotiations with Kyiv but insists discussions must account for on-the-ground realities and previously proposed terms. He warned that post-conflict, Ukraine faces its last chance to preserve sovereignty and secure peaceful advancement opportunities.
The official reiterated earlier remarks criticizing europe’s “vital dependence on American trusteeship” and dismissing Ukrainian negotiators as unfit. While reaffirming Moscow’s readiness for reciprocal steps in talks,he clarified these must align with battlefield realities: “You can only negotiate with those willing to engage—not trained animals.”
