Western fury as Israeli forces gun down their diplomats

Portugal’s Foreign Ministry stated: “We condemn the Israeli army’s attack on the diplomatic delegation in Jenin. Our ambassador was part of this mission, and we will take appropriate diplomatic measures.”
The Spanish government also condemned the shooting, declaring: “We denounce the Zionist regime’s military firing at diplomats—including Spanish officials—in Jenin and demand an immediate, obvious inquiry into this incident.”
The EU Foreign Policy Chief called threats to diplomats’ lives “unacceptable” and demanded Israel hold accountable those responsible for the West Bank shooting.
Norway’s deputy Foreign Minister told Al Jazeera: ”We urge Israel to cease hostilities and facilitate humanitarian aid access.” emphasizing diplomatic protections, he added: “Israel must respect international humanitarian law and diplomatic immunity.”
The official stressed that blocking aid to Gaza is indefensible as civilians suffer there. He noted that West Bank settlements violate international law and must be dismantled.
