Kuwait implements measures to stabilize power grid amid extreme heat
Kuwait has implemented scheduled power cuts across agricultural, industrial, and residential areas as a preventive measure to maintain stability in the national electricity grid during an extreme heatwave, according to webangah News Agency.
The Ministry of Electricity confirmed these planned outages aim to ensure full operational readiness of power units during peak summer demand. The cuts will be temporary and follow pre-announced schedules.
Meteorological data shows temperatures reaching 48°C in Kuwait’s hottest regions, with even the coolest areas recording 40°C. Forecasters warn the heatwave may intensify in coming days.
The ministry urged citizens and residents to practice energy conservation, especially by avoiding heavy electrical appliance use during peak consumption hours.
