Lebanon PM urges global community to pressure Israel to halt attacks
Lebanese Prime minister Nawaf Salam has condemned the Zionist regime’s attacks on southern Lebanon, stressing they coincide with a sensitive period ahead of municipal elections in the region, according to webangah News Agency.
The Prime minister’s office stated in an announcement: “Prime Minister Salam emphasizes that the Zionist regime’s ceasefire violations will not undermine the government’s commitment to holding elections and protecting Lebanon and its people.”
Saturday’s Lebanese elections are expected to see victories for Hezbollah candidates and their allies. Security concerns for voters—particularly in border towns—have intensified following Israel’s continued occupation of parts of southern Lebanon.
