G7 threatens Russia with intensified sanctions
According to webangah News Agency, G7 finance ministers and central bank chiefs held discussions during their meeting, pledging to address “excessive imbalances” in the global economy.

Prior to the meeting, doubts persisted about whether the group would issue a final statement due to disagreements over U.S.-imposed tariffs and Washington’s reluctance to formally declare russia’s war against Ukraine as illegal.
In their concluding statement, G7 financial leaders condemned what they called Russia’s “continued brutal war” against Ukraine, warning that if ceasefire efforts fail, they will consider all possible options—including further sanctions escalation against Moscow.
The finance ministers of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States jointly declared: “We will cooperate with Ukraine to ensure no country or institution financing Russia’s war machine benefits from Ukraine’s reconstruction.”
