Islamic Jihad responds to US congressman’s call for nuclear bombing of Gaza
The palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has condemned the “heinous” remarks of a US Congressman who openly called for nuclear bombing of Gaza, according to webangah News Agency.
In a statement, the group said: “We consider these statements an open invitation to commit crimes against humanity and a terrifying reminder of fascism that history has condemned.”
The movement stated: “Comparing over two million Gaza residents – half of whom are children - to Nazis or Imperial Japan in World War II constitutes direct incitement to genocide.”
The Islamic Jihad emphasized: “Such rhetoric will never weaken Palestinian resilience nor shake our faith in the justice of our cause.”
The condemnation came after Republican Congressman Randy Fine, during a fox News interview, advocated nuclear strikes on Gaza while describing the Palestinian cause as ”pure evil.”
Fine explicitly referenced America’s atomic bombings of Japan, stating: ”In World War II, we didn’t negotiate with Nazis or Japanese. We dropped two nuclear weapons to achieve unconditional surrender – that’s what needs to happen here.” The Jewish-American lawmaker is known for his Zionist positions.
