Speculation grows over new round of talks and Wittkoff’s meeting with Zionist officials
According to webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, sources have speculated about the continuation of Iran-U.S. negotiations.
Reuters reported, quoting unnamed sources, that talks between Tehran and Washington are expected to proceed, with Oman announcing the schedule and venue.
Meanwhile, Axios revealed that U.S. Special Envoy for Iran Steve wittkof met with Israel’s Strategic affairs Minister and Mossad chief on Friday ahead of negotiations with Iran.
Omani Foreign minister Badr al-Busaidi stated minutes earlier that the fifth round of Iran-U.S. talks in Rome concluded with progress—though not definitive outcomes. “We hope remaining issues will be clarified so we can advance toward our shared goal: reaching a lasting and honorable agreement,” he said.
The fifth round began at 15:00 Tehran time at the Omani ambassador’s residence in Italy. The Iranian delegation led by Seyed Abbas Araghchi and the U.S. team headed by Steve Wittkof held separate consultations with Omani Foreign Minister al-Busaidi during the talks. As in previous rounds, Oman mediated these indirect negotiations.
