Boeing settles 737 MAX technical approval violations case with compensation

US Justice Department announces preliminary agreement to resolve long-running criminal examination into fatal Boeing‌ 737 ‌Max crashes.

The US Justice Department has reached a preliminary agreement to⁣ settle ‌the criminal​ investigation into ⁤the fatal Boeing 737 Max crashes,according to webangah News Agency citing France24.

Under the proposed ⁣deal,‌ Boeing will pay over $1.1 billion plus an additional $445⁢ million in victim compensation funds. In exchange, prosecutors will drop criminal charges against the ⁢American aerospace giant.

the provisional ⁢settlement⁤ requires approval by a federal⁢ judge, wich would cancel ⁣the criminal trial scheduled for June in ​Texas.

The agreement allows Boeing ‌to avoid admitting wrongdoing‌ regarding⁤ certification fraud⁣ allegations for it’s 737 Max aircraft while closing the case.

The two deadly ⁤crashes involving 737 ⁢Max planes – one‍ in October 2018 and another in March 2019 – claimed 346 lives.
