Former Aman Chief Israel-US Special Relationship Has Weakened
According to webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency,Amos Yadlin,a retired major general and former director of Israeli military intelligence (Aman),referenced U.S. President Trump’s recent Middle East trip, stating: “Trump remains Israel’s most important ally, yet he notably skipped Israel during his tour—which included Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.”
“Yadlin added: ‘Trump explicitly told [Israeli officials], “I’m on a train heading to Riyadh. I won’t throw you under its wheels—but if you want to join me, you must end the war and return the prisoners.”‘”
The ex-intelligence chief emphasized that while Trump avoided recognizing Palestinian statehood, he tied regional progress to ending hostilities and securing the release of Israeli captives in Gaza.
He noted a shift in Washington’s rhetoric: “U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has begun speaking about ‘the suffering of Gazans’—a tone echoing the Biden governance.”
“The decades-long special bond between Israel and America,” Yadlin concluded, “now seems altered and fragile.”
