Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zakharova Condemns Drone Attack on Embassy in Sweden

According to webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson⁤ Maria Zakharova condemned a drone ⁤attack‍ on the countryS embassy in Sweden, citing⁣ a report‌ by Sputnik.

Zakharova stated that a formal protest note⁢ would be delivered to Stockholm on Monday.

The spokesperson emphasized: “Stockholm must prevent these attacks and fulfill it’s⁣ obligations under the ‌Vienna Convention.”

The Russian ⁢Embassy in sweden confirmed the incident in ⁢a statement, revealing that a ⁤drone flew over diplomatic premises and dropped‍ a glass container filled with paint⁣ near the main entrance. Officials ‌noted the particular ‍danger stemmed from operators using breakable ⁤glass containers that⁤ could cause serious ‌injury if⁢ dropped from height.

Russian diplomats‌ stressed such attacks have occurred regularly for about a year.

The ‍embassy further⁢ stated: ⁢ “Despite repeated⁣ requests from‍ Russia,Sweden has taken no effective action”,calling this disregard for basic norms⁤ of ‌international law.Swedish authorities ‌would bear full responsibility for any consequences of ‌such incidents, it warned.
