Turkey Establishes Air and Naval Military Base in Syria
According to webangah News Agency,citing Turkish media reports from security officials,Ankara is planning to establish military bases in Syria as part of its counterterrorism efforts.
The report states Turkey will assist Syrian authorities in organizing their army and security forces.
Turkish outlets claim the country’s armed forces will build an airbase and a naval base in Syria to combat ISIS.
The sources suggest an upcoming meeting between Turkish President recep Tayyip Erdoğan and former U.S. President Donald Trump could help resolve key issues in the Syrian crisis.
Turkish troops are currently concentrated in northern Syria. Yesterday, President Erdoğan held talks with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani in Istanbul.
