Iraqi sources announce capital’s closure on Tuesday to commemorate martyrdom anniversary of 9th Shia Imam.
According to webangah News Agency, Baghdad Governor Abdul-Muttalib al-Alawi has declared an official holiday for the province’s government offices on Tuesday to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (AS).
The Baghdad Governorate stated in a Sunday announcement that the decision was made by the provincial council, with service institutions exempt from the closure.
The statement clarified that Tuesday’s holiday coincides with the commemoration of Imam al-Jawad (AS), the ninth Shia Imam.
