US NATO Envoy Says Iran Will Not Obtain Nuclear Weapons
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, Matthew Whitaker, the U.S. representative to NATO, stated in an interview with Fox News on Sunday that former President Donald Trump had made it clear Iran would not acquire nuclear weapons—”whether through negotiation or any other means.” Whitaker made these remarks without referencing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s acknowledgment of the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
The U.S. envoy to NATO, who appeared to overlook Trump’s unilateral violation of UN Security council Resolution 2231 in 2018 and withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA), added: “We will not reach an agreement with Iran that cannot be verified or implemented in the future.”
Whitaker further emphasized: “A diplomatic solution and negotiations are necessary to end the war in Ukraine. Ther is no military solution to this conflict. A lasting peace agreement must be reached between Ukrainians and Russians.”
