Russian Defense Ministry announces completion of prisoner exchange: 1,000 Ukrainian POWs for 1,000 Russians.
The Russian defense Ministry stated in a Sunday declaration that a 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner swap with Ukraine was conducted from January 23 to 25 under the Istanbul agreements, according to webangah News Agency.
The ministry’s statement confirmed an additional exchange today: 303 Russian servicemen were returned from Kyiv-controlled territory, while Ukraine received 303 of its POWs in return.
The released Russian personnel are currently in Belarus and will be transported home for medical treatment and rehabilitation services, the defense ministry added.
