Axios White House rejects Hamas claim of agreeing to Gaza ceasefire plan by Vitek

According to webangah News Agency,⁢ citing Al Jazeera’s report from Axios, Steve​ Witkoff, the Trump administration’s special envoy for regional affairs, stated that Israel had agreed to his proposal involving the release of half of living captives and half of deceased captives.

The envoy added that this ceasefire would lead to meaningful ⁢negotiations toward a permanent truce. “I‍ agreed to ‍lead these talks—there’s a deal⁣ on the​ table, and Hamas must accept⁢ it! What I’ve heard from ⁢Hamas so far is disappointing and fully unacceptable,” ‌he said.

Separately, Barak​ Ravid, Axios reporter, posted ⁣on social media ‌platform X that ​Witkoff denied Hamas’ claim of accepting his prisoner-release and ceasefire proposal. The White House envoy‌ told him: “What I’ve seen from hamas is disappointing ‍and entirely unacceptable.”
