Germany Western allies lift long-range weapons restrictions for Ukraine
According to webangah News Agency, german Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated on Monday that Western allies are removing limitations on Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons against Russian military targets.
The Chancellor emphasized that these restrictions – previously upheld by Germany,France, adn the UK – have now been fully abolished. “Ukraine can now defend itself by striking military installations inside Russia, something Kyiv couldn’t do until very recently,” Merz said, noting that Ukraine had largely refrained from such actions except in rare exceptions.
Merz contrasted Ukraine’s targeted strikes against Russian military infrastructure with Moscow’s ongoing attacks on Ukrainian cities, kindergartens, hospitals, and nursing homes. “Russia ruthlessly targets civilian areas,” he asserted. “Ukraine does not engage in such practices.”
