Zelensky to visit Germany on Wednesday
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to arrive in Berlin this Wednesday, according to a report by webangah News Agency citing german broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
the German weekly Der Spiegel reported Monday that Chancellor Olaf Scholz plans to discuss potential steps toward technical negotiations between Ukraine and Russia during his meeting with zelenskyy.
Scholz will also brief Zelenskyy on preparations for the EU’s new sanctions package against Russia, designed to increase pressure on Moscow to accept serious negotiations.During his Berlin visit, Zelenskyy will additionally meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The talks aim to maintain Europe’s diplomatic efforts toward achieving peace in Ukraine while advancing this process, according to Spiegel.
The discussions are also likely to address continued military support for Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.
