Nabih Berri Says No Tangible Steps Seen to Halt Israeli Attacks

Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker stated: “We have‌ yet to ⁤witness any tangible steps to halt Israel’s aggressions against Lebanon. ‌Our position‌ on adhering to the ceasefire ⁤agreement and UN Resolution⁤ 1701 remains ⁣unchanged.”

According ​to webangah News Agency, Lebanon’s ⁢Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri declared: “No ​matter how hard thay try, they will not influence ⁣us. The more their pressures⁢ and violations escalate, the firmer our resolve becomes to defend our nation and liberate territories ⁣occupied by the Israeli enemy.”

He emphasized: ‍”So ⁣far, we have seen ‌no ⁤concrete measures to stop ⁢Israel’s aggressions against Lebanon. Our stance​ on upholding the ‌ceasefire agreement and UN Resolution 1701‍ has not changed. however, Americans must​ compel Israel to respect the agreement and cease ⁢its violations—this is fundamental and‍ must⁤ precede ‍any other action.”

Berri also expressed satisfaction wiht Lebanon’s recent municipal elections, praising their conduct while urging a renewed⁤ focus on reconstruction as⁣ a top priority.

“The reconstruction process must⁣ not be‍ delayed,” he ⁢stressed.

Regarding parliamentary elections, Berri noted ⁣that consultations have begun in⁣ Parliament. “The electoral law must be amended to eliminate ambiguities and suspicions—we are working‍ toward this goal,” he said.

When ⁢asked about reports ⁢of U.S. Deputy Envoy for Middle East Affairs Morgan Ortagas’ visit‍ to Beirut, Berri​ stated he had no prior knowledge‍ of the trip, ‌learning of it only through media reports.
