Kuwait backs establishment of independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders
According to webangah news Agency, Kuwait has urged the revival of peace talks between Palestinians and occupying forces.
Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Crown Prince, emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, organized crime, enhancing security intelligence sharing, and improving crisis response capabilities during his participation in the second summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and ASEAN in Malaysia.
Al-Sabah reiterated Kuwait’s longstanding position on the Palestinian issue, supporting Palestinians’ right to an independent state based on June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations by applying necessary pressure to halt aggression and ensure international protection for civilians.
The Crown Prince reaffirmed Kuwait’s demand for a serious resumption of peace negotiations between palestine and Israel based on legitimate international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. He praised ASEAN’s stance in supporting Palestinians’ legal rights and just causes.
Regarding Syria, Al-Sabah stated that GCC countries welcome positive developments there while reaffirming support for ongoing efforts to achieve security, stability, sovereignty preservation—and territorial integrity—of Syria.
