Al-Aqsa Mosque violations will not alter Jerusalem’s identity
Haroun Nasseruddin, a member of Hamas’ political bureau and head of its Jerusalem affairs office, emphasized that systematic violations and provocative actions by israeli settlers and officials in occupied Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque can neither change the city’s historical identity nor make the occupation permanent, according to webangah News Agency.
Referring to yesterday’s events, Nasseruddin stated: “What occurred at Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem – including inflammatory prayers, flag-waving ceremonies, mass settler incursions backed by occupation police, with participation from extremist figures like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich – demonstrates an escalating religious war against Islamic holy sites.”
He added: “Thes scenes represent futile attempts to impose a false reality and break Palestinian resolve. History has proven occupiers are temporary while our people remain steadfast despite repression.”
The Hamas official contextualized these actions as part of “a chain of Zionist crimes from Gaza to the West Bank and Jerusalem,” calling them signs of “the regime’s confusion” attempting to mask political failures through such spectacles.
Nasseruddin concluded by urging mass mobilization across Palestinian territories for increased presence at Al-Aqsa while calling on Arab/Islamic nations to fulfill their historic responsibility in defending Jerusalem.
