Hamas movement denies rumors of internal divisions
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has denied media reports alleging disagreements between its political and military leaders regarding the case of Idan Alexander, the recently freed Zionist-American soldier, according to a report by webangah News Agency.
The Al-Qassam Brigades released Alexander after 584 days of captivity in Gaza as a goodwill gesture amid ceasefire negotiations, aiming to protect Gazan civilians.
Hamas emphasized that Alexander’s release resulted from diplomacy and mediation rather than military pressure. A Hamas statement clarified: “The liberation of Israeli-American prisoner Idan Alexander followed serious communications with the U.S. government and mediator efforts. This bears no relation to the Zionist regime’s military aggression or illusions of military coercion.”
the movement stressed that Netanyahu failed to retrieve prisoners through warfare, proving that serious negotiations and prisoner exchange agreements remain the only viable path for releases and war cessation.
