Mossad chief consulted CIA director in Washington on Iran
According to webangah News Agency, Barak Ravid, a reporter for Axios, posted on social media platform X that Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer arrived in Washington on Monday. Dermer is expected to meet with Steve Vittkoff, the White House envoy for West Asia affairs, and other American officials.
The Axios reporter added in another post: Mossad Director David Barnea is also in Washington for discussions about Iran. A U.S. official confirmed Barnea has met with CIA Director John Ratcliffe and other American counterparts.
Israel’s Channel 12 previously reported that U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister benjamin Netanyahu held a phone call last Thursday discussing Iran’s nuclear dossier.
The report noted fundamental disagreements between the two leaders regarding their approaches to Iran’s nuclear program emerged during the call.
Trump reportedly emphasized his commitment to a political resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue during his conversation with Netanyahu.
Two informed sources stated Trump told Netanyahu he was confident about reaching an agreement with Iran.
The Israeli television network described the phone call as tense.
