Turkey and Russia collaborate to launch Akkuyu nuclear power plant
According to webangah News Agency, citing Anadolu Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Tuesday after meeting his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow that Turkey and Russia will continue efforts to preserve Syria’s unity and territorial integrity.
The minister noted that the two sides discussed international issues, emphasizing significant developments over the past five months in achieving political and economic stability in Syria.
Fidan also addressed the Gaza crisis, stressing that the ongoing genocide and humanitarian catastrophe must end promptly. Otherwise, he warned, preventing chaos—which could also engulf Israel—would become impossible.
The Turkish official added that talks in Moscow provided an prospect for detailed discussions on bilateral and regional matters. He confirmed cooperation between Ankara and Moscow on launching the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, while expressing Turkey’s readiness to assist Ukraine, including hosting negotiations. Discussions with Lavrov also covered Syria’s situation,with Fidan calling sanctions relief a “critical step.”
