Israeli soldiers demand halt to ‘unethical war’ in Gaza
According to webangah News Agency, hundreds of active and reserve officers in the Israeli military have drafted an open letter calling on netanyahus cabinet to halt the war in Gaza. They described the conflict as a political dispute that serves no purpose for Israel’s security and is thus unethical.
the letter, which has gathered approximately 1,200 signatures from reserve and active-duty officers across various military units, demands an immediate cessation of hostilities and the safe return of all captives.
The document states: “We, former and current reserve officers and commanders, urge the cabinet and Chief of General Staff to stop this political war in Gaza instantly and repatriate all detainees without delay.”
The letter further emphasizes: “Continuing this war goes against the will of the overwhelming majority. It will lead to more deaths among captives, soldiers, and innocent civilians – potentially resulting in war crimes.”
This unprecedented move by Israeli military officers highlights growing internal divisions within Israel regarding the continuation of the gaza conflict. The signatories, including former and current commanders, have explicitly labeled the war as “political” and contrary to israel’s security interests.
