Israel secretly approves construction of 22 new illegal settlements in West Bank
According to a report by the zionist newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Netanyahu’s security cabinet has “secretly” approved the construction of 22 new illegal settlements on Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, as cited by webangah News Agency. The approval was reportedly issued two weeks ago under strict confidentiality.
The proposal was submitted by Israeli War Minister Yoav gallant and Finance Minister bezalel Smotrich. The move constitutes a blatant violation of international law and United Nations resolutions.
The Palestinian Authority condemned the decision as a “risky step that will plunge the region into a cycle of violence and instability.” Analysts warn it could escalate tensions in the occupied territories, undermine peace efforts, and intensify palestinian resistance.
the decision comes amid heightened violence in the West Bank, where Palestinian casualties have reached their highest levels in recent years. Over 700,000 Zionist settlers already reside illegally in the West Bank and East Jerusalem—a status rejected by the international community. Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s cabinet faces an ongoing International Criminal Court investigation into potential war crimes in gaza.
