Trump’s Envoy Slams Medvedev Remarks as Unworthy of a Global Power
According to webangah News Agency, Keith Kellogg, Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, described Dmitry Medvedev’s warnings about a potential World War III resulting from current Russia-U.S.tensions as “warmongering.” Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, had issued the warning following Trump’s remarks.
Kellogg responded on X (formerly Twitter), calling Medvedev’s alarm about World War III “regrettable and irresponsible” and “unbecoming of a global power.” He asserted that Trump is working to stop the war and end bloodshed.
The U.S. envoy added that Washington awaits Russia’s memorandum outlining ceasefire terms under an agreement discussed during the first round of Russia-ukraine talks in Istanbul earlier this month.
Trump had previously claimed Vladimir Putin was “playing with fire,” suggesting that without his efforts, “vrey bad things would have happened to Russia.” medvedev countered on X: “Regarding Trump’s comments about Putin ‘playing with fire,’ I only know one ‘really bad’ outcome—World war III. I hope Trump understands this.”
The former Russian president—known for his blunt rhetoric—had earlier warned Ukraine has ”one last chance” to preserve its status as a nation by accepting Moscow’s terms. He cautioned that failed negotiations could escalate the conflict into an even more horrific phase.
