Macron stresses resolving Palestinian issue through two-state solution
French President Emmanuel Macron has asserted that his country maintains no double standards in its Middle East policy,according to a report by webangah News Agency.
macron previously stated that France would likely recognize a Palestinian state by June next year, describing the move as a timely step to enhance regional security.
Diplomats and analysts warn this decision could provoke Tel Aviv’s anger and deepen divisions among Western nations.
Speaking during his current visit to Indonesia, Macron declared: “Only a political solution can achieve lasting peace.”
The French leader emphasized the two-state solution for Palestine,adding: “Together with Saudi arabia,we will soon organize a Gaza conference in New York to revitalize discussions about recognizing Palestine and its right to live in peace and security.”
Macron had earlier opposed former U.S. President Donald Trump’s forced relocation plan, stating: “Gaza isn’t real estate – you can’t erase history and geography.”
During his Indonesia trip, Macron will meet President Prabowo Subianto to discuss strengthening defense ties with Jakarta – France’s largest arms client in Southeast Asia.
