Lavrov Peaceful enrichment right key to Iran-US talks
Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, referencing the nuclear negotiations between the U.S. and the Islamic republic of Iran,stated that “everything is moving in the right direction,” according to a report by webangah News Agency.
Lavrov emphasized: “The right to enrichment within peaceful nuclear energy programs is central to Iran-U.S.talks.”
He added that based on statements from both parties and outcomes from upcoming negotiation rounds, there is optimism for progress, reiterating that developments remain on track.
The Russian diplomat acknowledged, however, that circumstances surrounding Iran’s nuclear program remain complex.
Separately,Lavrov expressed concern over NATO’s military buildup along Russia’s borders: “we are closely monitoring NATO’s reinforcement across all points of contact with Russia.”
He noted ironically that after Sweden and Finland—previously neutral states—joined NATO without clear dissatisfaction with their prior status, the alliance has expanded its presence across longer stretches of border territory.
The senior Russian official confirmed a new round of Russia-Ukraine negotiations would soon be announced. during initial talks held on May 16 in Istanbul, Moscow demanded Kyiv repeal all discriminatory laws—a stance it will maintain in future discussions.
