Hamas issues new statement on Gaza ceasefire agreement
In a statement, Hamas emphasized its extensive efforts to halt the “brutal war” against the Gaza strip, revealing it recently reached an agreement with U.S.representative Steve Witkoff on a general framework. This framework aims to establish a permanent ceasefire, complete withdrawal of Zionist forces from Gaza, unimpeded humanitarian aid entry, and the immediate formation of a professional committee to oversee Gaza’s affairs post-agreement, according to webangah News Agency.
The statement noted the deal includes releasing 10 Zionist prisoners and handing over bodies of some deceased captives in exchange for freeing an agreed number of Palestinian detainees—guaranteed by mediators. The movement awaits final approval of this thorough agreement.
