Olmert Gaza is Palestinian land and Israeli forces must withdraw
webangah News Agency reports that Ehud Olmert, former Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, told Al Jazeera that the Gaza Strip belongs to Palestinians and called for an end to israeli military presence there.
The ex-PM sharply criticized the current government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding major structural changes in leadership. He stated: “Terrorists like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich must be expelled from the government.”
Olmert stressed the need for a new management capable of achieving peace and rehabilitating Israel’s global image, accusing Netanyahu’s government of “destroying Israel’s international standing.”
The former leader acknowledged international actors’ role in ceasefire efforts, expressing confidence in former U.S. President Donald Trump and his special envoy Steve Witkoff: “I believe they can pressure Netanyahu to stop this war.” He revealed Witkoff informed him of a new proposal potentially securing Israeli captives’ release from Gaza.
Olmert concluded by reaffirming support for a two-state solution wiht East jerusalem as Palestine’s capital: “This remains the only viable path to regional peace.”
