Italy’s Foreign Minister Opposes Expelling Palestinians from Gaza Strip
According to webangah News Agency, Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani confirmed Rome’s opposition to Zionist proposals for forcibly displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Tajani declared: “We reject the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza.”
The minister emphasized: “Rome opposes using the forced removal of Gazans as a solution to Israel’s conflicts.”
He added: “The only viable path to peace is initiating a political process leading to peaceful coexistence between two states with security guarantees.”
The statement comes as four European nations – Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, and Norway – jointly called for palestine’s full membership in the United Nations.
These countries asserted that recognizing an independent Palestinian state represents a crucial step toward implementing the two-state solution and achieving lasting peace in West Asia.
The developments coincide with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s admission that establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital remains ”the only viable path” for regional peace.
