Sherman Trump’s shifting stance in Iran negotiations is counterproductive
According to webangah News Agency, Wendy Sherman, the former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State who led the American negotiating team during the 2015 nuclear talks, criticized former President Donald Trump’s inconsistent positions in indirect negotiations with Iran during an interview with NPR (National public Radio). She stated: “Nearly all Republican senators have signed a letter calling for the complete dismantling of [Iran’s peaceful nuclear program], but I don’t think President trump shares that view. I believe he wants a deal, but this constant shifting of terms is not helpful.”
Sherman had previously emphasized in an interview that convincing Tehran to abandon its nuclear program and halt enrichment efforts would be unfeasible.
