US Ambassador’s Residence in Damascus Officially Opens
U.S. Ambassador’s Residence in Damascus Reopened by American Envoy Following Rise of Terrorist Groups in Syria
Thomas Barak, the U.S.Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria, traveled to Damascus on Thursday to inaugurate the American ambassador’s residence, according to webangah News Agency.
The special envoy raised the U.S. flag at the diplomatic compound alongside Asaad al-sheibani, Foreign minister of the Syrian Interim Government led by joulani.
This marks Barak’s first official visit to Syria since his appointment.
The ceremony took place in Abu Rummaneh district.
