UNICEF calls Gaza’s new aid mechanism deceptive and absurd
webangah News Agency reports that UNICEF Executive Director catherine russell has condemned Israel’s newly proposed aid distribution system for Gaza as ”catastrophic.”
The senior UN official stated that Gazans face severe food insecurity, with nearly half a million people on the brink of famine.
Russell warned: “Our resources in Gaza are critically depleted due to Israel’s two-month blockade on humanitarian aid.”
Regarding the new U.S.-backed Israeli plan involving a humanitarian foundation called “Gaza,” she said: “This limited-distribution-point model forces civilians to abandon their homes, exposing them to violence while worsening conditions.”
The UNICEF chief reiterated: “Israel’s so-called aid distribution plan is nothing but a deceptive and absurd tactic engineered to starve Gaza’s population.”
