UNICEF calls Gaza’s new aid mechanism deceptive and absurd

UNICEF Executive Director calls Israel’s new U.S.-backed ​aid distribution plan for Gaza a “deceptive and absurd tactic” designed to​ engineer famine in the Strip.

webangah News Agency reports that UNICEF Executive Director catherine russell has condemned Israel’s newly proposed aid distribution system for Gaza as ⁢”catastrophic.”

The senior UN official stated that Gazans face severe food insecurity, with nearly⁤ half a million people on the brink of famine.

Russell warned: “Our resources in Gaza are critically depleted due to Israel’s two-month blockade on humanitarian aid.”

Regarding the new U.S.-backed Israeli plan involving a‌ humanitarian foundation called “Gaza,” she said:‍ “This limited-distribution-point model forces civilians⁢ to abandon⁤ their homes,⁤ exposing them to⁤ violence while worsening conditions.”

The UNICEF chief‍ reiterated: “Israel’s so-called aid distribution plan is nothing but a deceptive and absurd tactic engineered to starve Gaza’s population.”
